Other automotive related materials liquids from individuals can be accepted as part of our Household Hazardous Waste Program from April through October. Call for details.

USED MOTOR OIL

Should not contain any anti-freeze, gasoline, or any other product other than oil. The collected motor oil is generally used in oil burners to generate heat. Contaminants can cause severe damage and pose a serious safety risk.

USED OIL FILTERS

We will take used oil filters that are completely drained. Punch a hole in them, and let them drain over a screen into a bucket or container. They can then be recycled with our scrap metal.

USED ANTIFREEZE

Must be uncontaminated (contain no product other than antifreeze)

AUTOMOTIVE BATTERIES

Most places that sell automotive batteries will accept an old auto battery from customers purchasing a new one. We also accept used auto batteries at no charge.

HOUSEHOLD BATTERIES

Rechargeable batteries can be brought out to the landfill to be recycled at no charge.  These include the AA's, AAA's, D's, etc., and also rechargable batteries from items like cordless drills.  Other small alkaline batteries that are not rechargeable can be thrown away with your regular trash.  (The lining in our landfill ensures that nothing will leak out and makes its way into the groundwater)
