Helpful Tip: One "square" of shingles (single layer) weighs about 240#.  That means that disposal for each square will cost around $9.60.  If you use this formula, remembering to figure in additional layers, you will have a pretty good estimate of your cost to dispose roofing material at the landfill.

While most solid waste brought into the landfill is baled, loads of construction demolition are sent directly to the working face of the landfill. This is because the material is either too large to go through our baler or does not bale well, such as plaster.

We still need metal to be sorted out of these loads before coming out to the landfill. Anyone refusing to do this is subject to a double charge on their bill.

And another reminder...PLEASE tarp or secure your load. No one enjoys encountering debris in the road, especially when it results in a nail in your tire.
